This issue:

Happy New Year!

Another new year lies before all of us, already earmarked with expectations and strategies to make our organizations and our communities ever better. But while the community issues continue to increase, do our skills and abilities keep pace?

Attending the conference in March can provide tools, knowledge, and connections to help you meet those needs and expectations. And the perspective you bring is an appreciated addition to our collective learning.

There is still time to join your fellow collective giving grantmakers at WCGN’s conference in Atlantic Beach, FL, March 12-14.  But don’t delay! The conference registration closes February 15.

Here are the Top 10 Reasons to Come to Atlantic Beach Florida for WCGN! We hope both the content and camaraderie will entice you. The full array of plenary and breakouts is listed below.

Don’t forget that a network of experience and ideas is at your fingertips 24/7 through the Member Directory and the Member to Member Discussion Forum.  Reach out to a fellow member philanthropist individually or pose a question to the network itself for their experiences or feedback related to an issue you are dealing with.

We are stronger and more effective because we work together.

Warmly,

Virginia Mills

WCGN Board Chair

As our organizations grow, we often have opportunities to work with other funders in our communities.  Our January webinar, “Women’s Collective Giving Grantmaking Groups as Funding Collaborators:  The Why and the How”, will give us plenty of ideas on how to make these efforts more successful.

Our speaker will be Darrin Goss, CEO of the Coastal Community Foundation (Charleston, SC).  Darrin has also worked with the United Way organizations in Baton Rouge, LA and Greenville, SC.

      March 14-15, 2017

      Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile

Women’s philanthropy may be at a watershed moment.  With access to more wealth than ever before – some say as much as $13.2 trillion in North America alone – women’s voices, perspectives, leadership, and resources are needed more than ever to address today’s pressing challenges.  DREAM. DARE. DO. brings together a wide range of speakers from across the nonprofit sector to discuss big ideas, bold language, new approaches, and catalytic action at the Women’s Philanthropy Institute’s 5th national symposium on women’s philanthropy, March 14-15, 2017, in Chicago, IL.

Register today and add your voice to the conversation.  Explore the models women create in philanthropy to build civil society.  Learn how women’s philanthropic efforts are accelerating social change.  Discuss trends, changes, challenges, and the future for women’s philanthropy.
